Draper Conservation Area Master Plan
Landmark Design was asked to look critically at Draper’s 'pioneer settlement area' as a place to re-establish a center for the town and a focus for the community that is rooted in its social and cultural history and tradition. Landmark Design worked with an architect specializing in historic preservation and prepared a plan for this historic precinct. The plan proposes a unique set of tools for protecting existing structures, trees, historic sites, and open space that contribute to the unique character of the original settlement area of Draper. The plan also includes strategies and mechanisms to assure that new development is compatible with older development patterns and design features, and addresses traditional patterns for both residential and commercial development. The planning process included extensive public input, including numerous public scoping meetings, an open house, and plan development review by a 16-member management committee.
