East West Trails Master Plan
There will be a staff project kickoff meeting on December 5th, 2013.
Landmark Design Inc. has been hired by Salt Lake County to lead planning efforts toward the development of the East West Trails Master Plan. As development of the Jordan River Parkway Trail continues, the necessity to plan for, preserve and build trail connections to the JRPT becomes more important and critical than ever before. The East West Trails Master Plan project addresses the following elements:
A. Identify preferred alignments (also secondary and tertiary alignments where plausible) for east-west connectivity.
B. Identify barriers or constraints, and possible solutions to each, (i.e. the need for a separated crossing).
C. Determine all Rights-of-way.
D. Identify possible trailhead locations.
E. Define trail connection opportunities to UTA TRAX and FrontRunner stations.
This scope includes facilitating community workshops for each trail alignment identified, and a planning document to implement future development of those alignments. The tasks include the analysis of existing conditions, trail system assessment, trail planning & design, A Master Plan Report and Public Involvement.
