Highway 75 Corridor Environmental Analysis

“The work conducted by Landmark Design and their honest communications with stakeholders were instrumental in overcoming a 30-year distrust and resistance to improvements along the SH-75 Scenic Corridor in central Idaho.”

Diana Atkins
Project Manager, Parsons Brinckerhoff

Landmark Design was responsible for land use analysis and planning, and recreation and visual resource planning for the scenic corridor between the Timmerman Junction and the resort area of Ketchum/Sun Valley, Idaho. The area is an internationally known tourist and recreation area with broad appeal throughout the four seasons.  Landmark Design documented existing land uses, recreation opportunities, and visual resources for Blaine County and five municipalities in the County, worked with economic planners, traffic and transportation planners, and community groups to develop future land use and transportation scenarios, evaluated and documented potential impacts to land uses, recreation opportunities, and visual resources, and recommended mitigation measures and guidelines to assure roadway improvements are compatible with the high standards demanded by the recreating public and local residents.  Landmark Design was also responsible for coordinating public involvement and media outreach.  The Final Environmental Impact Statement was completed in 2007.
