Loy F. Blake Park Redesign and Master Plan
Landmark Design recently completed planning and redesign plans for the 30-acre Loy F. Blake Park in West Point City. Landmark Design facilitated a public scoping meeting and worked closely with the Advisory Committee to identify the key elements and needs for this community park. Landmark Design developed two Preliminary Concept alternatives that were reviewed by the advisory committee. These Concept Alternatives were refined and ultimately evolved into the Final Loy F. Blake Park Master Plan. The Final Master Plan Design reflects the need for greater park access by widening the south road and linking it to the west parking area. The Master Plan features a small baseball complex, two multi-purpose sports playing fields, an aquatic center, one large bowery, 4 small boweries, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, a large and small playground area, and restrooms.
Landmark Design provided cost and budget information for the redesign, recommended funding sources and opportunities, assisted in prioritizing elements for phasing, and presented the preferred plan to the West Point City Council.
