I first became interested in urban design and landscape architecture while working as a fledgling city planner. During these years I had become increasingly frustrated with projects that focused on setting long-term goals and policies, and little "payback" in the form of corresponding growth and physical change. Part of my job at the time was to review development proposals, and these often included landscape designs. As I studied the various sets of drawings, sections, renderings and sketches, I became increasingly sure that I wanted to learn to do similar things.

Since then my educational pursuits and career path has been circuitous and varied, taking me from Salt Lake City to Blacksburg, Seattle, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Kanye, Gaborone and back again. During the intervening years I have merged interests in city-building and urban design with the grounding principles I learned while studying and practicing landscape architecture. I get immense pleasure hopping from one professional foot to the other, and revel in the projects I am entrusted to work on. I have found my niche in a profession with unlimited opportunities and challenge.
Working at Landmark Design has been a perfect fit. I enjoy the range of projects, the focus on carefully listening to the needs of our clients and the public, the company of interesting and enjoyable colleagues, and a corporate philosophy that is responsive to the needs of its employees and always trying to "do the right thing."

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my family. I am a passionate telemark skier, a fledgling nordic skier, and a diligent but slow runner. A life dream is to return to Botswana and smell the desert rain.
