Landmark Design was hired by ARUP Laboratories to re-design their corporate campus located at Research Park in Salt Lake City. The plan represents a departure from the typical Research Park Campus through the establishment of a regionally appropriate and responsible water-conserving design that goes beyond water and maintenance cost savings. The design supports alternative landscape treatments that reduce water use and landscape maintenance, enhances employee use of the site and strengthens the visual image of the company. In addition to providing a strong visual impression for visitors and staff and a safe and comfortable place for employee and visitor activities, the revised site plan establishes ARUP as an exemplary Research Park campus and an environmental steward in the Salt Lake Valley.

As part of the conceptual master plan, a Phasing Strategy was develop to assist the client with prioritizing capital improvement, and to visualize the type of materials and design standards necessary to meet the project goals.

The Master Plan was completed and approved by the AARUP Executive Committee and Research Park representatives. Since adoption, the Plan has been revised, with detailed design and phased improvements that have occurred over a multi-year implementation period.
