Landmark Design, in conjunction with InterPlan Company, Brixen and Christopher Architects, and Lewis Young Roberts and Burningham, completed the Lehi Downtown Revitalization Plan and Business Park Master Plan. The Downtown Revitalization Plan takes a critical look at Downtown Lehi, with a specific task of establishing a vision and guiding future development and growth in the area. The Study focuses on the historic core of Downtown Lehi, from I-15 to 500 West Street, and from 100 South to State Street. The area includes Main Street, City Hall, Lehi Legacy Center, Margaret Wines Park, Lehi Rodeo Grounds, Lehi Elementary, Lehi High School, and a large residential district.
Throughout much of its history, Downtown Lehi has been evolving as the heart
of this historic community. Even though the historic center of Lehi
has lost some significant architectural treasures, much of its built heritage
remains today, contributing so positively to the character and charm of this
part of town. The downtown area contains approximately 60 blocks and
nearly 500 structures, mostly residential. Nearly 50% of the buildings are
at least 50 years old, and many date back to the 19th century. The small
city blocks, mature trees and predominately detached single family residences
combine to make Downtown Lehi one of the best historic neighborhoods found
in all of the small towns in Utah. With the substantial growth north
of the center of town and east of I-15 corridor, as well as the growth in
other Utah County communities, the area is rapidly changing. Traffic
is a growing problem, threatening the existence of the area.
A unified vision that manages growth while protecting and building upon the
historic qualities that make Lehi so special seems mandatory as the evolution
of Lehi continues. This study takes a critical look at Downtown Lehi,
establishing a vision and guiding future development and growth in the area.
The study focuses on the historic core of Downtown Lehi, which extends
from I-15 to 500 West Street and from 100 South to State Street. The
area includes Main Street, City Hall, Lehi Legacy Center, City Hall, Margaret
Wines Park, Lehi Rodeo Grounds, Lehi Elementary, Lehi High School, and a large
residential district. In addition to Downtown Lehi, the study also investigates
potential sites for a new Business Park in Lehi, particularly along State
Street. Guidelines have also been developed to enhance the image of both downtown
Lehi and a future business park.
The Lehi Revitalization Plan was adopted on February 15, 2007.
