Sandy City South Towne Promenade
_Landmark Design finalized
planning and schematic design for the South Towne Promenade and Streetscape
Design Plan in downtown Sandy City, Utah, and the plan was approved by the
Sandy City Council. This project establishes a comprehensive capital
improvement and urban design enhancement program for a large, center-street
median park in the city center. The design was prepared under the guidance of a
25-member steering committee, with input by the Mayor and other interested
parties.
The design incorporates established goals and aspirations for a vital downtown. The vision is to establish the South Towne Promenade as a setting for large events and festivals, and creating a variety of "people places" for the enjoyment of downtown workers, visitors and residents on a daily basis. The design process incorporated a Visual Preference Survey, and investigated numerous design alternatives. The Preferred Alternative Design incorporates the best ideas as part of a long-term phased implementation scheme corresponding to Sandy City's funding abilities. _ |
