South Ogden City General Plan Update

Picture
Landmark Design, in conjunction with teams of economic and transportation planners, prepared a second update of the South Ogden General Plan. The first update (South Ogden Quality of Life Plan), which was adopted in 2001, focused on issues related to traffic and transportation, public safety, community aesthetics and parks/recreation/open space. The second update focuses on detail issues of a community facing buildout.  With a population of approximately 15,000, the demographics of the City were not expected to change significantly. Acerbated by a limited number of “development/ redevelopment” opportunities, the second update process addressed “hot spot” neighborhoods and sites, including the downtown area. The final plan, which was adopted by the city Council in 2008, included new elements related to land use, transportation, market/economic conditions, public services, community facilities, and community design.

In both projects public input was provided in a variety of forms, including a Community Needs and Preference Survey, Open House Scoping and Review Meetings, a project website and design workshops. A Citizens Advisory Committed provided overall guidance and direction as part of preparing both plans both plans.
