Landmark Design recently completed an update to the South Ogden City General Plan. South Ogden is a maturing city, with only small remnants of vacant and developable land to accommodate development. As a result, the city has entered a new era of targeted growth, with change focused within its business districts and commercial nodes. At the start of the planning process, Landmark Design developed and facilitated a series of public engagement opportunities, including a community visioning survey, project website, and public scoping event, that served as the foundation for the plan moving forward.
At the core of the document is a Placemaking Plan, which brings land use together with other important aspects of the physical structure including major corridors, green structure, centers, gateways, urban design, and, neighborhoods. Each are individually analyzed and detailed throughout the plan. The plan also addresses transportation, moderate income housing, and water preservation. It concludes with a prioritized list of “catalytic projects,” which are tangible, project-oriented actions that will help city leadership realize the established vision. |
