With the construction of Burch Creek Elementary, South Ogden City acquired approximately 7.3 acres of former school land for the development of a future park. Combined with 6.7 acres of adjacent Weber School District fields that the City leases, Landmark Design prepared a master plan for the new Burch Creek Community Park that provides a unique mix of amenities designed to serve the needs of the local community, students and others from around the region, incorporating the desires of the community gathered through a community survey and public outreach meetings.
Based on the master plan and cost estimates developed by Landmark Design, the park was awarded a $385,000 Recreation, Arts, Museums and Parks (RAMP) grant by Weber County, which was the largest individual grant awarded in the 2018 award cycle. It was subsequently awarded an additional $500,000 RAMP grant in 2019.
The park includes a large welcome plaza, water feature, playgrounds, pickleball courts, picnic shelters, exercise stations, a labyrinth art feature, walking track and other elements. Landmark Design led a team of architects and engineers in preparing construction documents and the construction administration of the project. A grand opening celebrated the park's completion in Spring 2021.
