SPANISH FORK WATER-WISE ORDINANCE UPDATE + GUIDEBOOK

Client: Spanish Fork City
Year: 2022
“This Guidebook provides insight on how to not only design our outdoor spaces to use less water but also to be functional, beautiful and easy to maintain.  By following these principles we can make our homes, neighborhoods and community even better than they are today.”

Mike Mendenhall
Mayor
Spanish Fork City
In 2022, Landmark Design worked with Spanish Fork City to revise and update the City’s existing landscape ordinance to ensure recent changes to state code were met. A special focus was placed on encouraging residents and property owners to conserve landscape water and a guidebook was developed as a companion piece to the ordinance update. The guidebook is an adaptation of the Localscapes® Approach — a simplified, practical approach to creating water-conserving landscapes and yards — and provides descriptions of water-wise principles, inspiration for residents, and a detailed resource matrix.
